Program Description

The City University of Hong Kong is a dynamic university uniquely located right at the heart of Asia's World City. Housing

There are two routes students can take in regards to accommodation: residence halls and off-campus accommodations. While CityU does offer on-campus accommodation to exchange students, space is limited and filled based on a lottery system. However, CityU has a great support system in place for those students who do not get placed into on-campus accommodation, who wish to live off campus, or are seeking temporary housing options upon arrival.

Student dormitories

Most accommodation options take the form of residence halls locations just 10 minutes from campus by foot. Each hall has their own mission (i.e. to serve humanity, celebrate diversity, "happy & free"), and provide options for either single or double rooms. CityU Scholarship Opportunities

City University of Hong Kong offers the following scholarship opportunity:

  • Outstanding Athletes Entrance Scholarship for Non-Local [Exchange] Students Students awarded this scholarship will receive HK$10,000 (approx. US$1,250) per semester. As CityU seeks to attract high-performing international athletes, candidates will be reviewed by performance and must be able to participate in CityU inter-varsity sports competitions. Available sports include: swimming, cross country, basketball, soccer, volleyball, water polo, and tennis. Learn more information here.

Students studying abroad through exchange pay UT Knoxville tuition and fees, as well as international insurance and a study abroad administrative fee via their myUTK account. Applicable fees include course fees associated with majors in the Haslam College of Business, Architecture and Design, the Tickle College of Engineering, and Social Work. Additional expenses include housing, food, passport, visa (if necessary), transportation, books, and personal expenses.

Any payments made directly to the host institution (i.e. accommodation) will follow the host institution's payment schedule, which may be ahead of UT's schedule to release any applicable financial aid.
