The Center for Global Engagement (CGE) Study Abroad Scholarship provides awards to degree-seeking undergraduate students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. These scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and academic merit. Award amounts are as follows: $750 for mini-term, spring break and summer programs; $1,250 for semester, academic year and calendar year programs.
Students who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:
Will be studying on a CGE approved education abroad program - these include all programs available through the Program Search.
Will NOT be graduating prior to the end of your education abroad program.
Will be enrolled as a full-time student in a study abroad program (minimum of 12 hours per semester or 3 during the summer if not participating on a UTK faculty-directed program).
Will be receiving academic credit for your education abroad program.
Will be a degree-seeking undergraduate student at the start of your program.
Have not previously received a CGE Study Abroad Scholarship (regardless of term).
Is NOT an athlete of full scholarship.
When to Apply
Apply early fall semester if you will be studying abroad in the spring semester, calendar year or spring break.
Apply early spring semester if you will be studying abroad in the mini-term or summer or the following fall semester or academic year.
Scholarships may only be used toward programs of the correlating term - i.e. a fall scholarship may only be applied to a fall education abroad program. Make sure to apply for the scholarship term that corresponds with your education abroad program:
AY Scholarships – Academic Year Program (Fall semester and the following Spring semester combined)
Fall Scholarships – Fall Semester Program
Spring Scholarships – Spring Semester Program
SB Scholarships – Spring Break Program
Summer Scholarships – Summer I, Summer II or Full Summer Program
