Spend your summer studying abroad in Japan's mega-metropolis capital, Tokyo! Known for its outstanding modern and avant-garde features, Tokyo is the ideal place to spend six weeks exploring Japan's treasures while taking two courses in Japanese language, art, business, communications, history, pop culture, religion, or society.  

Conveniently located in the center of the city, CIEE Tokyo is surrounded by Japan's economic and educational hub, making it the perfect place to live and learn abroad. A city like no other, Tokyo constantly reinvents itself. Explore how limited space has been innovatively utilized and indulge in the astounding variety of shopping and entertainment options. Excursions & Activities

Excursions and activities may include: 

  • Exploring Tokyo through group activities and on your own – there’s always more to see and do 
  • Getting to the ballpark to see how baseball is enjoyed in Japanese Style 
  • Getting out of the city and explore nearby localities such as Kamakura or Yokohama 
  • Watching Kabuki or Rakugo performances
