** Indicates rolling admission application process (with the exception of UT Faculty-directed programs & CGE Scholarship). Applicants will be immediately notified of acceptance into this program and be able to complete post-decision materials prior to the term's application deadline.
Program Description:
New Program or New Leader Instructions: If you are proposing a new program; have never previously led a program; or have not led this program you are registering in the last 3 years, please schedule an appointment with Noah Rost (865-974-3177 or prior to completing this registration.

Returning Leader Instructions: If you are registering a program that you have led in the last 3 years, please follow the instructions below. For optimal performance of the Faculty-Directed Program Registration process we strongly recommend the use of the Firefox internet browser.
  1. Please read these instructions completely. We suggest you leave this window open so you can refer back to these instructions while starting the registration.
  2. Select "Apply Now".
  3. Use your UTK login credentials to log into the registration portal.
  4. Select the UTK term in which you intend to lead your program.
  5. Enter your anticipated program start and end dates, and select your primary program location from the list. If your location is not listed, please contact your designated Programs Abroad Coordinator. Select "Add to Itinerary". Note: If you do not know your exact program dates, please provide tentative dates using the Academic Standards for Faculty-Directed Programs as a guideline.
    • Programs with one location: Select "Apply" after adding your itinerary.
    • Programs with multiple overnight locations or overnight excursions: Enter each location separately with the tentative dates in which you will be in that location. After entering each additional location, select "Add to Itinerary." Once you have entered all locations with the respective dates, select "Apply".
  6. You will see a checklist of steps to complete.  Each checklist item contains a link which you must select to read the instructions and access any forms or documents associated with this item.
  7. There are 3 types of items you will see:
    • Signature Documents: policy statements for you to read and then sign electronically
    • Questionnaires: questionnaires you can complete electronically
    • Material Items: items requiring action, often completion of a form or other document that you must submit to the CIE; these will be checked off by a CIE staff member once the CIE has received the relevant form or document from you
