Student International Travel Registration (Risk Management Program)

** Indicates rolling admission application process (with the exception of UT Faculty-directed programs & CGE Scholarship). Applicants will be immediately notified of acceptance into this program and be able to complete post-decision materials prior to the term's application deadline.
Program Description:
NOTE: DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING ON A UT KNOXVILLE OR CGE APPROVED EDUCATION ABROAD PROGRAM

All undergraduate and graduate students traveling abroad on University of Tennessee, Knoxville funds (including research, independent study, travel to conferences and seminars, athletic events, and other university-related business) are required to register with and be approved by the Center for Global Engagement prior to departure. Please click the "apply now" button to begin the registration process. We will ask you to provide information about your travel plans and contact information in the destination country(ies). This information will include hotel and/or personal addresses, telephone numbers, email address and emergency contact information. Such information is necessary if emergencies arise either in the US or in the country(ies) of residence.

In addition, students are advised to register upon arrival in their country of destinations with the United States Embassy. This can now be done online at: https://step.state.gov/. In the event that issues affecting the safety of US citizens unexpectedly arise, the US Embassy needs up-to-date contact information for visitors in order to disseminate safety information, evacuation orders or other updated travel warnings.

Please note: When you begin your application, you will be prompted by the system to enter a term during which your international travel will begin.  The terms and corresponding dates are as follows:
  1. Fall: mid-August - December 31
  2. Spring: January 1 - early-May
  3. Full Summer: early-May - mid-August
You will also be prompted to choose the city(ies), country(ies), and region(s) to which you will be traveling.  If your location is not listed, please email itr@utk.edu.
 
After entering your destinations and dates, click the “Apply” button.  Click the “Get Started!” button to complete all of the required online forms:
